Chloe was a very special chinchilla. She was my baby for 3 years. She was there for me through thick and thin, when I felt like I had nothing left. She was there for me when all the humans in my life deserted me. Chloe was my little girl and when she left for the bridge she took a huge piece of my heart with her. We had a very special bond and I do believe she sent Pandora to me to be of comfort. Several months after Chloe's death, a Rainbow appeared on Pandora's fur. I miss Chloe so much, not a day goes by that I don't think about her.
It was a year ago today that you left me for the Bridge. Not a day goes by that I don't think about you or miss you. I love you so much and I hope you are having a good time playing with all your friends. Thank you for sending me the Rainbow kitty, she's been very comforting. Until we meet again, be a good girl and eat all the raisins you want. You won't get sick.
I have been trying to condition the cats to the car. Since you never know when you'll need to take a cat somewhere and we do plan on moving back to California some time soon, I feel that it would be a good idea to get everyone used to the car, carriers, harnesses and being out and about.
Pandora is the best traveler so far. She doesn't get too upset by it and she does really well being loose. She likes to sit in the backseat and look out the window. Pandora doesn't mind walking on the harness and is generally well-behaved.
Lilly absolutely hates the car, but the longer we're in it the better she gets. She does really well on a harness and likes to walk around the pet store. I'm hoping as time goes on she will get better with the car rides and will relax since we are making it part of her routine.
Hurley is a so-so traveler. He would rather be at home but when we go for rides he doesn't panic. He doesn't particularly like the harness. He kind of slinks when he walks with it on.
The traveling kitties will continue to be a project of mine. I'd like for everyone to be comfortable and not mind being in the car. I know it will take time, practice and patience, but I think the training is going really well.
Pandora and Lilly cuddling on the back of the couch. They are so cute when they are being good!
The third season of Cats 101 aired on Animal Planet tonight. I just love this show! The stories they have are always cute and it's fun learning about different breeds. I think my favorite breed from tonight's episode was the American Bobtail. It's interesting that they don't mind traveling if you introduce them to it at a young age. Lilly is a bobtail of some sort and so far she hates the car. The only thing that kind of annoys me about this show is "Doc Halligan". A lot of her lines make her sound really stupid!
I'm really excited to see what other breeds they will be featuring on the upcoming episodes.
Hurley and Lilly both like to watch TV. Hurley seems to love the show "Big Cat Diaries". Lilly will watch any show and loves watching Star Wars with Daddy. Pandora will watch TV occasionally. Whenever I see them watching I always wonder what they are thinking. It's just so cute! I think it would be really fun to have the Cat Sitter DVDs. I was watching Jay Leno the other night and he had Kate Walsh on. They were talking about their cats and Jay Leno said his cat loves the cat sitter dvd. LOL!

It still surprises me how one so small can make such a big mess. When we first got Lilly she was two months old and 2lbs, she had a lot of trouble adjusting to the food. At the time I was feeding an "all-life stage" formula. It turns out she has a wheat allergy and once we figured that out and changed the food she was fine. Anyways, back to the messes, the very first night we had her she covered my bathroom in poo. It was everywhere, in the shower curtain all over the bathtub, on the door. She's an amazing digger... She did all this by digging in the litter box. Luckily for me, Lilly is also very "helpful". She thought she should help me clean it up and imitated my movements. LOL!
Lilly is now 5 months old and around 6lbs and she's still a big mess-maker! Tonight she flung at least a 3rd of the litter out of the box. I think she enjoys seeing how far she can get it, or maybe she's trying to dig her way to China? I'm not sure. Lilly has such a funny personality. Each day she keeps me on my toes, there's never a dull moment with Lilly around!!!
I saw this video today and it reminded me so much of my husband and our cats. Pandora loves to play practical jokes on my husband while he's sleeping. She will get on top of him and slowly creep up to his face until a whisker tickles him and he jumps. Then she jumps on me and the look on her face, you can just tell she's laughing. All my kitties have a sense of humor. You can tell they just love it when you laugh with them.
Pandora's other favorite annoying my husband habit is she will follow him around the bedroom in the morning head-butting him as he walks. She's such a goof.
